The San Juan Islands are in the sunny part of the region. More sun, warmer temperatures, means more fun. If you are looking for a place to have some fun in the sun come on out to the Lopez Islander Resort.

Climate: Temperatures range from low 30's in the Winter to mid 80's in the Summer. The San Juan Islands climate is very temperate, making life in the islands easy. The San Juan islands lie in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and average about half the rainfall of Seattle. In the summer, temperatures stay in the 70’s and 80's during the day and dip to the 50’s or 60’s at night. Winters are mild with temperatures normally staying above freezing.

Geography: The number of islands that make up the archipelago (which includes the Golf Islands of British Columbia) is 786 at low tide and 457 at high tide. Only 175 of the islands are named and 65 are inhabited.

Lopez Island is the most peaceful and friendly of the San Juan Islands. We invite you to escape from the daily grind, come to Lopez Island, hike the tall trees, see the soaring Eagles flying over beautiful beaches and be home again.
